Vida Verde Owner Recognized Internationally
At Vida Verde Landscaping and Property Maintenance, recognition is not something we chase – it is something that grows naturally from our commitment to people, our respect for the land, and the pride we take in every project. Our journey, built by husband-and-wife team Kathryn Gordon and Yornan “Pito” Lieber Durán Hernández, has been shaped by hard work, resilience, and a shared vision for sustainable growth in Guanacaste.
We are honored to be recognized not only by our clients and community but also on an international stage.
Recognized by Global Woman Leader Magazine
One of the most meaningful milestones in our journey has been the feature of Kathryn Gordon, co-founder of Vida Verde and CEO of Costa Consultants International, in Global Woman Leader Magazine’s December 2025 issue, which highlights Women Leaders from Costa Rica and Colombia.
This recognition goes far beyond a professional achievement – it reflects the philosophy that defines both Costa Consultants and Vida Verde: a commitment to building businesses that prioritize people, planet, and profit.
Kathryn’s story, as shared in the publication, is one of innovation, determination, and purpose-driven leadership. From creating surgical internship programs at just 19 years old to becoming a leader in sustainable entrepreneurship, her path has always centered on creating opportunities for others. Her work in Costa Rica has focused on helping small and family-run businesses grow in an increasingly digital world, giving them the tools and strategies needed to thrive.
That same vision became a cornerstone in the creation of Vida Verde.
From Vision to Reality – Building Vida Verde
Vida Verde was not built overnight. It was born from years of experience, shared values, and a deep understanding of both business strategy and hands-on craftsmanship.
Kathryn brought structure, branding, and long-term growth strategy – shaped by her experience building Costa Consultants International and working with businesses across industries. She understood what it takes to create a company that not only grows, but sustains that growth with professionalism and purpose.
Pito brought something equally powerful – a lifelong connection to the land.
Originally from Guápiles, Costa Rica, Pito grew up as one of ten siblings in a farming family. Hard work was not optional – it was a way of life. From wearing work boots to school to developing expertise in landscaping, irrigation, and land management, his journey is rooted in resilience, humility, and pride in craftsmanship.
Together, Kathryn and Pito built Vida Verde as a reflection of both worlds:
Strategic vision and entrepreneurial leadership
Hands-on expertise and deep environmental knowledge
A shared commitment to community and integrity
What began with a single vehicle and a few essential tools has quickly grown into a trusted landscaping and property maintenance company serving Tamarindo, Playas del Coco, and surrounding areas.
A Business Model Built on People, Planet, and Profit
The recognition by Global Woman Leader Magazine highlights a principle that is deeply embedded in everything we do at Vida Verde – the triple bottom line:
We treat our clients, team members, and partners like family. Clear communication, reliability, and respect are the foundation of every relationship we build.
Working in Guanacaste means working in harmony with nature. From water-conscious irrigation systems to native plant selection and reforestation efforts, we design landscapes that are both beautiful and sustainable.
Responsible growth allows us to support local families, invest in our team, and contribute to the regional economy while maintaining the highest standards of service.
It is a daily practice that guides every project, every client interaction, and every decision we make.
Community Recognition and Client Trust
While international recognition is an incredible honor, some of our most meaningful achievements come from closer to home.
In our first months of operation, Vida Verde earned 20 five-star reviews on Google, reflecting the trust our clients have placed in us. Homeowners, developers, realtors, and property managers across Guanacaste rely on our team for consistent, high-quality service in a region where reliability truly matters.
Beyond our services, we are committed to giving back. From contributing time and materials to local schools and parks to supporting environmental initiatives, we believe that success is only meaningful when it benefits the community around us.
A Shared Mission for Sustainable Growth
The recognition of Kathryn Gordon by Global Woman Leader Magazine is a reflection of a larger story – one that includes the growth of Vida Verde and the partnership that made it possible.
Together, Kathryn and Pito have created more than a landscaping company. They have built a business rooted in:
Looking Ahead
As Vida Verde continues to grow, we remain grounded in the values that brought us here.
Recognition is not the end goal – it is a reminder that we are on the right path.
Our focus remains on:
- Delivering dependable, professional landscaping and property maintenance
- Supporting our team and local community
- Protecting the natural beauty of Costa Rica
- Continuing to grow with integrity and purpose
We are grateful to Global Woman Leader Magazine for recognizing the leadership behind our journey, and even more grateful to the clients and community who trust us every day.
Because at Vida Verde, success is not just measured in growth – it is measured in impact.
